Padrinos a Hispanic Wedding Tradition

In many Hispanic countries, Padrinos are the Bride and Groom's Godparents in the wedding. As such, they offer spiritual and emotional guidance to the newlyweds, they are usually people that have played an important role in the lives of the bride and groom. A marriage is a bond between two people and two families, Hispanic families are very communal and participate in each other’s lives and this is one way of doing it. However, this does not mean that the Padrinos are always chosen from each side of the families. Sometimes Padrinos are chosen between friends.
